'A day at the Races'. Philip Ashby visits the production centre of ITV4's Tour de France programme in Soho, London. Producer James Venner and Chief Editor Peter Wiggins talk about the challenges of making a daily quick turn-round 1 hour programme, airing at 7pm in the UK, some 90 minutes after the end of the race in France. Using 4 Final Cut Suites, linked via fibre network, in a tapeless environment, how does the team deliver a polished programme every day, live to air at 7pm?

James Venner describes a typical day from the producer's standpoint. He also talks about how they have changed their working methods through the years.

Peter Wiggins gives a comprehensive rundown of the technology in use, and the editing challenges they face.
